The Faith in Action Team
Our team leads us in serving locally and globally, reaching out in love through Christ to minister to a needy world through compassionate outreach that empowers, educates, uplifts and offers hope to people in need.
Good Shepherd continues to practice radical generosity and share the love of Christ with others.
The work of the Outreach Committee and the Advocacy Team has always been closely aligned. In 2023 a decision was made to join forces into a newly named ministry, the Faith in Action Team (FIAT). The partnership is strong and provides more of a platform to work on systemic solutions to community needs Good Sheperd parishioners care about, e.g. homelessness and food insecurity. Our involvement in a wide variety of community organizations remains consistent and robust. Other organizations have been included in our outreach efforts as additional needs come to our attention.
St. Claire’s Ministries
Each Tuesday, St. Clare’s provides hot meals, clothing and other necessities, worship, spiritual support, and a caring community to individuals experiencing housing insecurity and living in poverty. Volunteers from Good Shepherd serve the meal and operate the “Clothing Closet” on the third Tuesday each month. The people of Good Shepherd generously provide financial support in addition to donations of clothing, blankets, and more on a regular basis. Susan Hall, Jazz Krebs, and Deacon Nadine all serve on the St. Clare's Board of Directors.
